This is the Traxxas TSM Stability Management 2.4Ghz 4-Channel Receiver. Traxxas Stability Management (TSM) lets you experience all the extreme power, speed, and acceleration built into your Traxxas model while making it much easier to control on slippery surfaces like loose dirt, smooth concrete, and even ice and snow. Punch the throttle, and TSM immediately starts sensing the vehicle’s direction and making steering corrections to keep it straight, preventing fishtailing, spinouts, and loss of control.
TSM also works in corners, first making intuitive corrections to maintain your line, then allowing you to apply throttle earlier in the turn for much faster exit speeds. Braking is significantly improved, as TSM helps keep the vehicle straight until it comes to a complete stop.
Traxxas TSM gives you all the benefits of modern electronic stabilization without interfering with your driving experience or introducing unwanted side effects such as reduced turning radius, automatic braking that cuts out, throttle restrictions, or an overall disconnected driving feel. Traxxas engineers developed superior tuning algorithms that run on high-speed, precision electronics to create a system that works invisibly in the background without ever limiting your throttle.
TSM can be fine-tuned (or turned off) based on surface conditions by adjusting the multi-function knob on the TQi transmitter or using the Traxxas Link app. The result is faster, easier, and more enjoyable driving. In fact, you may not even realize how much TSM is helping until you turn it off and test your driving skills without it!
TSM is integrated into the model’s receiver. The TQi TSM receiver (TRA6533) works with TQi transmitters equipped with a multi-function knob, which adjusts the amount of assistance TSM provides. More assistance tightens control, virtually eliminating fishtailing and sliding. Less assistance allows for controlled power slides and throttle steering.
TSM never restricts throttle input, giving the driver full power control at all times. Turning the multi-function knob counterclockwise to its stop will disable TSM. Adjustments can also be made through the Traxxas Link app, where each model has a specific software load optimized for its performance.
Right out of the box, TSM requires no additional setup. It starts working as soon as the vehicle is powered on. TSM should be turned off when adjusting steering trim on the TQi transmitter.
Traxxas vehicles are built tough, but if you love to push the throttle hard, expect increased tire wear. Without TSM, holding full throttle for extended periods can be challenging, as drivers naturally ease off to maintain control. However, TSM allows for full-throttle acceleration on almost any surface. If you enjoy laying down rubber, your tires won’t stand a chance! Keep an extra set handy, especially when driving on asphalt and concrete.
Installing TSM in other Traxxas models requires a Traxxas TQi radio system with a multi-function knob. Connectivity to the Traxxas Link App (iOS or Android) is necessary to update the receiver firmware with a TSM profile specific to the model. Depending on the radio system, a TQi Traxxas Link Wireless Module may be needed for Bluetooth connection to a smartphone. If using a TQ radio system, consider upgrading to the TQi system for full feature access, long-range performance, telemetry, and Traxxas Link compatibility.
