MIP Bypass1™: Dynamic Fluid Management

MODEL: MUGEN MBX8R / SPARKO (16mm) | REF: SERIES #18400/#18410

Your ultimate technological advantage. MIP Bypass1™ pistons represent the evolution of RC suspension engineering. Unlike traditional static systems, Bypass1™ technology puts active oil flow management in your hands.

Developed under strict dyno testing (Dyno-Tuned Technology), these pistons replicate the compression curve of your MBX8R's stock components, but allow you to unlock unprecedented rebound (extension) adjustment via interchangeable membrane valves.

🧬 Competition DNA

  • 🔹 Adam Drake & Ryan Maifield: Technology validated by world champions.
  • 🔹 Smart Flow: Adjust rebound independently of oil viscosity.
  • 🔹 Made in USA: Bearing-grade CNC machining.

Verified Chassis Compatibility

Brand / Manufacturer Supported Models (16mm Shocks)

Valve Color Coding (Color Coded Valves™)

The Bypass1™ system uses valves of varying thicknesses so you can modulate the shock's return speed.

Color Thickness Behavior Recommended Use
GREEN .003 Fast Rebound Rough Track / Low Grip
BLUE .005 Medium Rebound MBX8R Standard Setup
CLEAR .007 Slow Rebound Big Jumps / High Grip

📋 Initial Configuration Protocol (Base Setup)

  1. Drilling: If your MBX8R setup requires holes larger than 1.3mm, drill the pistons before installation. If not, use them as is.
  2. Oil: Maintain the same density (CPS/CST) you use with stock pistons.
  3. Valve Installation: Place 1 Clear valve (.007) on top of the piston (upper face) as a starting point.
  4. Bench Test: Perform the "Drop Test". The "Pack" (compression resistance) should feel identical to stock.
  5. Fine Tuning: If the rebound is slow, switch to the Green valve (.003). If it is fast, stack valves (Stacking) until you achieve the desired effect.

Technical FAQ

How does valve "Stacking" affect performance?

Stacking valves allows you to create a progressive damping curve. By placing a thin valve (.003) followed by a thick one (.007), you get a fast initial response that progressively stiffens, ideal for technical tracks.

Is it necessary to change the shock oil?

Generally, no. Dyno-Tuned technology is designed to work with your usual oil. However, if you are looking for extreme reactivity using green valves (.003) and still find the suspension slow, you can reduce the oil viscosity by approximately 30-60 CPS (cSt) (equivalent to dropping 2.5-5.0 WT) to compensate.
